Angel in Waiting

 

This image of a little angel sleeping was taken in the studio and then I painted it in painter IX. I thought it might look better as a black and white but decided to keep the color because of the rose tones in her face.

Dawn's Early Light

The rowing team at Rollins College, sunrise at Kraft Azalea Park in Winter Park, Florida. Will be visiting Florida and the kids at the end of the month. Photographing a garden wedding as well, along with an engagement portrait and a family portrait on the beach. I love photographing on the beach can't wait to try out the techniques Cynthia taught us in Portraiture.

Fourth Place

I attended the 4H Gymkhana in Bailey, Colorado on Saturday. Lots of young kids riding for ribbons and prizes, had a great time. Contestants rode in the barrel, poles, flags and key hole races.The people were wonderful and I captured some great images of the best riding in this area.

Chess of Glass

I photographed this chess set using a large format camera for my studio class. It not only represents opposites of the King and Queen but from frosted and clear glass. The black and white is only coincidence but it adds another opposite attraction. I kept the plane of focus in the very front allowing the depth of field to fall off towards the background and cropped in as tight as I could.

Walking Woods

This image was captured digitally and after making any corrections is Photoshop I then opened the image in Painter and painted this photograph leaving the fence less painted to allow the light to be the focal point. I took this photograph in Austin, Texas.

TEA

The image was captured digital using an alternative darkroom process called VanDyke processing. I set this up in our dining room to represent a quite moment of the day. The brown range of tones completes the mood. This 11 X 14 image is on display at the Turnverein Cultural Center in Denver.

Coming Up Daisies

This digital image of three year old Christopher was taken at the park on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Here Christopher is watering daisies he planted for his mother who LOVES daisies. Howard the duck wasn't crazy about the daisies but really enjoyed the water.
